So a buddy of mine sent me this site and said it was of some graff heads in the Northwest Arkansas Area. It's called Aerosault and they feature some of the local art and DJ's that perform in the area. They also have a nice graffiti collection in the gallery including some of the ICEE Crew out of Dallas. So I meet this guy that plays in a Rock Band called Dreamfast that's playing in Fayetteville this Saturday, Feburary 23 at the Gypsy on Dickson. I've yet to see them play live but he game me a CD and its been in my play list ever since. They are a Pop Punk / Rock/ Powerpop Band with a female lead vocalist who can jam out. They go on about 9:00PM so if your in town this Saturday go check them out.

So it's official, Nut bolted, I'm a newbie to Razorback football only moving here a year ago, but where I come from people eat, breath and sleep football, so it wasn't hard to understand why such a talented team is only mediocre.

It starts with the coach, I mean come on if Mac Brown hadn't won the title with Mr. Invincible in a 10 year period the Texas fans would booooed him out too. You have to win or atleast be contenders, you know the SEC ain't for girls.

Just as an outsider looking in these past 18 months I thought the Razorbacks had incredible talent, they had the Heisman Trophy candidate, everyone around couldn't stop talking about him and then it seemed the season started and nobody said his name, I mean I saw a heisman prospect show the other day on the news and his name wasn't even mentioned, so sad. And Arkansas's diamond in the ruff(the man I think the Cowboys should draft) Felix Jones, has bearly even made a name for himself because Mr Nut, has gone nuts and chosen to put a dick in and shoot blanks. It seems poor coaching decisions and the inapt ability to be ok with mediocre has plagued the Razorbacks all year long, their real potential came far to late with the giant win over LSU, but who cared, all the spot light was on a Nuty Decision.

Come on Arkansas, get it together I mean you only got one sports team to worry about, you would think you would atleast be good at one thing. We'll his decisions have been made for him, and people are ready for a new set of nuts and bolts to hold the program together, or hey here's a tip for you, bring back the old, bring back Mr Malzon, your 5 minutes of fame aren't up yet coach and let him do his thing, he seemed to do pretty damn good last year until Nut wanted to control it all.

Saw this around the corner from work today I wonder how many punkins they have sold, actually what is a punkin? This went hand in hand with the waiter at lunch today that talked like a nascar race announcer and called us all "Boss" guess this is another only in Arkansas moment.

 

Ok here's an "Only in Arkansas" that I like, we found this place on the internet on some underground ozark site, this place looked pretty cool so me and a friend headed out to shoot some pics and check it out. It turns out it's an aboandoned million-dollar resort of a presidential candidate from the early 1900's, located as Monte Ne. We were told Beaver lake was up now by the californian at the gas station, as she was pointed out by the Arkansasan fellow at the table, who then showed us a B/W pic from the 70's of it. There he said, there under the water lies an ampitheater that was built alongside the Inn it's prettty cool too.

The place was a 3-story concrete structure that had seen its fair share of weathering that's for sure. Solid concrete, you could see where it had been chipped and some fallen from other floors, the weird thing was there were no stairs to the second or third floors (I told Bob we needed a rope.) Getting to the second floor was no problem but we couldn't go up anymore from there.

The place was cool every inch of the walls was coved with graffiti, messages, fairy tales, and some humorous vulgarities. One common message that seems to always exist on the these type of walls, which tells the times, is that of love, peace, war, and hate and could definately befound in the messages and scribbles, many biblical and racial slurs were even present, the devil himself was referenced a few times. Every person and their momma told there significant other how they felt wether it was of happiness or of I even saw damnnation to one lady.

There were 6 fireplaces that we saw and there was still the third floor left unseen, it seems one person belives that this is where your suppose to put the "bodies???" Not sure on that one but it added to the ambiance of the room.  I didn't see any tresspassing signs and the people at the gas station acted like they tell people where it is all the time, so it seemed a pretty safe place. It sits right on the lake, maybe a stones throw away, and would be a perfect backdrop for a sunset or sunrise pic giving strk contrast to the writings on the wall...
